Lesson Overview

Step 1: Sign Up for a Hosting Plan

  • Visit Hostinger’s Website: Go to Hostinger.
  • Choose a Hosting Plan: Select a plan that suits your needs (e.g., Shared Hosting, Cloud Hosting, or VPS).
  • Create an Account: Click on “Get Started” or “Sign Up” and fill in the required information to create an account.

Step 2: Register a Domain Name (if you don’t have one)

  • Select Domain Registration: During the signup process, you can choose to register a new domain. Enter your desired domain name.
  • Complete Registration: Follow the prompts to register the domain, if applicable. If you already have a domain, you can skip this step.

Step 3: Access the hPanel

  • Log In to Your Account: Once you have created your account, log in to your Hostinger account.
  • Navigate to hPanel: After logging in, you will be directed to the Hostinger control panel (hPanel).

Step 4: Upload Your Website Files

  • Go to File Manager: In hPanel, find the “File Manager” option under the “Website” section.
  • Open the Public_html Directory: This is where you need to upload your website files.
  • Upload Files: Click on the “Upload” button and select the files from your local computer (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, etc.). If you have a zip file, you can upload that too and extract it within the File Manager.

Step 5: Configure Domain Settings

  • Domain Management: If you registered a new domain or are using an existing one, ensure that it points to your Hostinger hosting. This usually involves updating the DNS settings at your domain registrar.
  • If the domain is registered with Hostinger, the settings are configured automatically.
  • If it's registered elsewhere, update the nameservers to those provided by Hostinger.

Step 6: Test Your Website

  • Visit Your Domain: Open your web browser and enter your domain name to check if your website is live.
  • Check Functionality: Make sure all links, forms, and functionalities are working as expected.
